Getting To Port Hardy

Travel by Land

Travel by land to Port Hardy is truly breath taking. The 2.5-hour drive along the Island Highway from Campbell River north to Port Hardy winds through coastal rainforests, follows the Nimpkish Valley mountain range to the tip of Vancouver Island. The route offers ample opportunities to stop and stretch one’s legs, take in scenic views and breathe in the fresh, clean island air. Sharp eyes lend well for wildlife sightings of black-tailed deer, elk, black bear, and several bird species inhabiting the local area along the way!

Travel prepared, check for updated road conditions and delay notifications at Drive BC. Be advised, cellular service is NOT available outside of Campbell River until arrival within the communities of Woss, Port McNeill, Port Alice, or Port Hardy.
